Dynamic Phototherapy

(LED)

Dynamic Phototherapy (LED) represents a new therapeutic option in anti-aging techniques. This gentle yet effective procedure has a demonstrable impact on skin quality and vitality and is ideal for treating tired skin. Known as ‘skin fitness’ in the USA, this therapy uses LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) and involves emitting cold, monochromatic light. It is of dual interest in the field of dermatology, firstly it stimulates the activity of fibroblasts (skin cells), consequently stimulating the synthesis of collagen, and secondly it inhibits the production of the enzymes that break down collagen and hyaluronic acid. This stimulated cell activity encourages skin rejuvenation and regeneration, thus reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improving skin elasticity. Results can be further enhanced by applying a photosensitising agent to the skin before treatment (dynamic phototherapy). This works like a peel.

This is a progressive treatment that is totally safe. The biostimulation produced by cold, monochromatic LED light reproduces the beneficial effects of sun exposure, without the harmful side effects. Therapy involves one 15 to 30-minute session once a month. This method treats skin without damaging the surface, which means that patients can resume normal activity immediately after treatment (unless therapy is combined with a topical peel, in which case the skin will peel for 4 days following treatment).
