Ear Surgery.
Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. For the most part, the operation is done on children between the ages of 8 and 18.
Who is it for
The impact of protruding ears on the psychological well-being of both children and adults has long been noted by doctors. Adults can be embarrassed and camouflage their ears with their hair, and a child's self-imaging may be severely affected. It is a straightforward procedure, which can give you renewed confidence in your appearance.
Treatment
Ear cosmetic surgery can be carried out under twilight anesthesia which is a type of anesthetic technique in which the patient is sedated, but not unconscious. The incisions are generally placed behind the ear and the cartilage of the ear is remodelled. The stiches are absorbable and do not require you to come back to have them removed.
Will I need time off work?
Yes,1-2 days are required off work however the dressing will remain for up to 7 days although there is hardly any swelling or bruising to expect.

You will need to wear bandages around your ears for 2-7 days, at which time your stitches will be removed. Once removal of the bandages, you will be able to see the results immediately.
How long does it last?
