Lip Enhancement
Lip enhancement is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure which can restore the natural lip contour, add fullness to thin lips and decrease wrinkles around the mouth recreating a natural, attractive look.
Who is a candidate?
The best candidates for lip augmentation are people who have lost the plumpness of their lips. Or those who wish to restore and rejuvenate their lips and ffine lines around the mouth.
Treatment
Dr Raspaldo prefers to use Juvéderm® ULTRA which is an advanced, cohesive, 3D hyaluronic acid matrix dermal filler rather than fat grafting or more intrusive methods.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure takes 10-20 minsutes and when performed as a stand-alone procedure, you can return to work immediately afterward. There is no need for local anesthetic, it is not painful and no special wound care is required.
Techniques
Dr Raspaldo uses two techniques. One to control the lips with border injections or if more volume is required a Voluma or Juvéderm® ULTRA filler is injected, or a combination of both the above. Vertical lines are treated at the 3rd visit.
How long does it last?
Dr Raspaldo and collegues have proven by scientific study that Juvéderm® ULTRA can last up to about 18 months. Other hyaluronic acids last about 12 months.
Other facts
Lip augmentation is often done in conjunction with other procedures to enhance the patient’s volume and restorative results. In an office visit, these complementary procedures can include the use of the same or similar fillers in other areas of the face, botox injections, or non-surgical procedures.
